Carrieton Caravn Park

Another project to come out of Carrieton was making new designs for the town's caravan park. It was the first time that I'd needed to make consistent pieces so I was able to work along in production line of my own and watch as they all come along together very well.

Carrieton Rodeo

This was new signage for South Australia's largest Rodeo held once a year (around the last weekend in December) in Carrieton, SA. It's been going since 1953 and turns a sleepy little town in the Flinder's Ranges into a hub of activity as thousands of punters turn up to watch the bucks make the longest times.

I added an additional feature to the signs by making corresponding number cards so that the next 5 years dates can simply be swapped around and bolted onto the front.

Itch Itch Lay

A personal canvas for a good friend made from what was around to hand, but the question is . . .

 . . . do you get it?

Begadang Backpackers

Bar sign for Begadang Backpackers on Gilli Air, Indonesia. With this one I worked very closely with the guesthouse's branding, which was fun because I was able to paint something bold and punchy.

Makings of a Moody Landscape

A canvas painting which I'd put out in only a few hours, inspired by clouds and mountains; two of natures biggest features. I especially liked the corners in terms of tones and shape.

Akinabalu Youth Hostel

Before I left Borneo I had one last commission which was this simple jungle design for the stairway of Akinabalu Youth Hostel.

A shout out to Andy for giving me company and beers!

Rustic Borneo

I'm currently in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo, Malaysia, and have just finished my first mural with a few other possibilities opening up.

It was designed for Rustic Borneo travel agency so features a few of the reasons why tourists visit this region; there are hibiscus flowers, a proboscis monkey, an orangutan, a handful of birds and even a Murut warrior with a traditional blow dart.

42°

Whilst painting a mural (in Luang Prabang, Laos) I decided to entertain myself by making a video alongside it. So I made one. Nothing but me on scorching hot rooftop all day.

This is . . . .
42°

Wheels of Love

It's becoming increasingly popular for tourists to buy a cheap Vietnamese motorbike and ride it through the country and some neighbouring ones too, after speaking with one of their owners he hired me to give his bike some more character. It's gotten me full of ideas for others so once I get a long awaited paint delivery then I'm off into the madness of Hanoi to get myself on the side of as many bikes as I can!

Henna, Chalks and Signs

As of late I've been spending some time in Thailand and have been the go to guy for any signage work as well as messing around henna on a few guests at the ChillOutHouse hostel, Koh Lanta. It's tested me a lot more since having to make due with any materials that we could find/use, however getting my hands on chalk was fun as I haven't used that stuff since I was much younger but it worked well.
