Pierra St. Peacock

This was a recent project held during a street party that was organised by Small Block cafe, Brunswick East, Melbourne Australia. Which for the first time saw me handing over the creative direction almost entirely into the hands of the public. The day started off with being on site during the morning, painting the outlines and the peacock's features, after which I was handing out brushes and paint pots to anyone that came along and signed them up to get involved.

It was a great opportunity for me to let go in directing how the artwork grows and I have to say that I was really impressed by the result! It is by far the most colourful piece that I have ever been involved with and I was thrilled by the response that I received from the residents of Pierra Street, not only all the positive comments but also at the sheer quantity of people showing interest and getting their hands dirty. It was a really successful project and it is hopefully something that I can do more of in the future.
